i think i am about to aquire a 79 elcamino. After owning a 81 and a 83 model, i prefer the look of the 82 and newer. what does it take to convert the header panel styles? will i need to change the radiator support? any helpwill be appreciated. :?

If you just need the plates, you can get them new from gbodyparts.com. They are stainless and they claim that they will never rust again. I have to get a set myself. They also sell the center rail. Just thought I would throw that in.

It is white but faded. It has seen the wrath of sitting under a pine tree for several years.. About a month or two before I bought it, someone stole the tops out of it. I found a set for 25.00. I just got to ressurrect her. I can't give up. I a true olds fan!. :D

Thanks for the advice. I am o.k. at body work. I used to work for a body shop. I can't weld yet, but I have seen my former employer fix some pretty messed up vehicles. Some were totaled and some had even been flipped over. We even built a 70 camaro with a 468 in it. Im in one of those situations...

350 swap I would save up a few extra hundred and go ahead and drop a 350 in it. You can find new, not rebuilt crate motors from different engine suppliers like Scoggins Dickey and others. I have 2 1984 cutlasses that I plan to put different engines in. A 350 in one and a 454 in the other.
