Well it works, except for when I turn on the gauge lights, then it just stays at 1000 rpm, regardless of actual rpm. All of the other gauges work fine. Tried pressing on cluster and nothing happened.
Any Ideas?
1984 Culass supreme. factory tach
Anybody running one? What is everyone's opinion of them? Saw one at crappy tire says it's supposed to increase horsepower. Also have heard many horror story's about them to.
Will the rear end out of a 1979 Chevy Monza fit into the back of a 1984 olds cutlass supreme? I realize the Monza is only 4 bolt wheel pattern, but other then that is it wider/skinnier then the one in my car? Found one with 3:08's and a rebuilt posi for $100

I ran the numbers on my motor and came up with these:
Behind the D. side head: 3970010
In front of the P. side head, behind the alternator: 751308665 and K(1 or l was faded pretty bad)211CMJ
Plus the oilpan is painted blue, which a buddy tells me they used on some of the older 'vettes Camaros...
So I may as well start a build as I plan on having the car for a long time.
Specs include:
1968 Chev 327
Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carb
Slight cam
Flathead pistons
2.5'' true dual exhaust with 16'' blue bottles
Rebuilt top end
Rebuilt transmission with B&M stage 2 shift kit (Turbo 350)...
