If i put in a trans with overdrive how do i hook it up so i can shift it properly if my old trans was a 3 speed????

Seems to me you just wouldn't be able to put it into L1. Floor or column shift?

Ok, need more info. Is this a floor shift car? If not, throw the 4spd o/d transmission in it and hook everything up.

If it is a floor shift car, you will need to get a 4 spd shifter as the 3 spd shifter has a different detent plate in it.

It works fine in a column shift car, with the exception of the indicator on the dash which will not read right.

which transmission are you useing? In any case the 200r and the 700r will both need a torque converter lockup controller. TCI, B&M and a few other companys make them and the start out at about $80 on up. As far as the linkage, it you already have a floor shift usually you can make them work. Colum, I couldnt really tell you. Alot of later G Bodys had OD trannys so finding the linkage and whatever else you may need shouldn't be too hard. Good luck

to correct myself, a colum shifter will work, I had them backwards. Sorry guys

sorry it is a column shift car. So what exactly will i need to get this done, obviously a transmission, probablt a 200r4 but i have a 700r4 that i have here already so maybe i will use that, but what else will i need.

what car and what transmission did you origanally have? motor? Depending on all this you may need a different crossmember, and possibly driveshaft.
