I got a good deal on 4 torque thrust IIs 17x10 with a 7" backspace. I need a bolt on spacer/adapter for my ford rear. What kind of spacer would I need front and rear on a stock rear so I can measure and figure out where I'm at with the wider rear.
Also, what size tires can I run on these and not look too narrow or stretched? 245 or 255 maybe?

You will probably need a 2" spacer for the rear. And if I were you I'd sell 2 of them and buy some 17x8's for the front with 4.5" backspace.

IF I were you I'd go 245-40 front and 275/40 rear.

And also, what are your plans for the rear sway bar?

Honestly if your car's suspension is 100% stock odds are they will never fit right or proper. on a 17x10 rim smallest tire without inboard sidewalls is 255 and even some tire mfg the 255's are a tad skinny. 7" backspacing means they were setup for a Vette most likely.

Using stock lower arms boxed with rubber bushings for now until I can afford some umi roto joint lowers. Either way I'm running my stock f41 rear bar.

And thanks, I thought that was about where I needed to be. After looking through countless spacer options, I might just sell these and pick up a set of mustang 17" wheels. They have just about the right offset for my new rear, and then I'd only need spacers on the 2 front wheels to convert the pattern and match my extra 1/2-3/4" per side in the back.

Cant help you with the exact spacing, but 17x10 with 245 and 255 is not right. I ran 245/275 on 17x8.5 and 17x9.5 and they still looked like they wanted more width. For a 17x10 id say youre looking at a 285 or 295 minimum depending on brand.

The brand is actually VERY important when it comes to appearance. The good brands will list the Tread Width as well as the regular rating. Some of the cheaper manufacturers take width at the widest part of the tire. Square shoulders generally tend to be wider tread width than round, but are noisier. Lots of factors.

I tried the 17x9.5 on my Regal and they fit with room to spare, although the backspacing wasnt right so they rubbed on the frame in places. I had over an inch of space on the outside though. (Regal and Cutlass have the same wheel wells). Not sure you can pull off a 17x10 out front though. I have 17x8 on my malibu with no issues all the way around. 245 front/255 rear.

On second thought, with the 8.8 1"-1.25" would probably get it close. 2" would be about right with a stock rearend.

And I'll be watching the 8.8 progress. Really intrested to see a swap using the sway bar.

I was looking for what the spacers are with the stock rear because I can't find conclusive data on what the width difference is. It's between 1 and 1.5" total wider. So .5-.75" per side bumped out. I'll just measure them both and get a REAL # before I'd order any spacers.
