These are just a few pictures of a 1962 Ford Ranchero that i took while in canada. This car is completely custom and later i will post more pictues that prove that. This car is being built by and old man there but should be complete by next spring. Engine and transmission are out of a 1996 Firebird. Plans for the motor at to put a supercharger from a 3.8 on the LT1 to pic up around 100 hp. these are just some pics hope you all enjoy!

Wayyy cool Ranchero!!

Why the f*ck would he put anything but a Ford driveline in it?
A supercharged 4.0L with a 5 speed auto and a 9" rear would be sweet.
Ford in Ford,Olds in Olds,Pontiac in Pontiac,etc,etc.

chevy is easier to come by plus he's makin ford valve covers so the average dumbass won't know the difference

No offence,but.........
Ford V8s are hard to find? Not giving you a hard time, but Ford V8s are EVERYWHERE.
I live in Canada.I can find most any drivetrain I want.
Plus,he'll look like a "dumbass" with Ford valve covers on a Chevy motor.
Won't fool car folk.
Anybody who is a car person can tell a Chevy engine from a Ford engine.
Rant over.

it will be sweet either way supercharged chevy or ford but thanks for your input everyone has an opinion which is cool.

I like the Ranchero! I have no problem with the Non Ford drivetrain in the car...err...truck, but would consider using something a little more unique than the LT1 or LS1 if it were me. A 3.8 from a late F body with the supercharger and manifold from a Bonneville SSEi or Park Avenue Ultra would be way different. I'd also consider a 2.3 4 cyl turbo from an 80's Fox body or Merkur ( the one that is a European Ford Sierra) or even something more exotic like a Toyota 2JZ-GTE from a MK IV Supra or a Nissan RB25DET from a Skyline GTS-T. Both of the Japanese sixes can make ridiculous power on a stock bottom end ( The current record for a Supra with stock shortblock is in excess of 1,000 hp at the wheels!) and no one can say they've seen it before.

I also dig the front wheel choice in that it gives the truck the feeling of something that melds the modern with the old ( I think they are from Konig), but would probably upgrade from what I think are Granada/Monarch brakes as they look small behind those wheels. I'd also consider a set of Recaro seats from a E30 chassis BMW 325i instead of the Escort GT seats it has in it now. More support and adjustability. Is that a Ford Fusion grille fitted inside the original grille tin? It looks really good. It should probably use some sort of bottom feed scoop ( Like 3g F bodies and G bodies have) with that grille to aide with cooling though.
