Hello I am new to the site, I have run across an opportunity to purchase a 78 Grand AM 1 owner car, 90 k miles.
Its Black/Gold lower, Black Vinyl Buckets option, Floor shift, upgrade Metric transmission to Turbo 350, has the 301 4 barrel, P/W, PL, Snowfake gold wheel option. No other mods done.
Car was stored for the past 10 years, recently pulled out and has been in his driveway for about a year car has not been driven over the past 11 years.
The car is supposingly in good condition no rust, just needs a good detailing and some minor cosmetics.
I can get the car for about $2000, what is the market value for one of these cars, like the Malibu I know they are getting scarce, roughly about 7500 Grand Am's where built in 78, but how many in this color combo and options are out their.
Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

I previously owned 1986 Grand Prix traded it for another car back in 05.
The car was factory orderd Black with gray interior electric moonroof, 305 4brl, floor shift LE model every option available in 86 with Posi. rear all receipts since new from the original owner.

I currently have a 65 Mustang Coupe 302 detailed motor, T-5 conversion, Full red/white Pony interior, GT Fog lights, Trumpet Exhaust, 15&16 polished Eagle alloys Nice clean solid car.
And I have a 1 owner 1986 Camaro Sport Coupe, 305 4 barrel, 200r4, 95% original NO mods at all, garaged since new all receipts Red / Black lower with Gray interior with 113k miles Rust free. Got it back in June to sell it any interest drop me line I will send pictures.

Your timing is superb. There's a 78 red one on ebay that the auction will end in a few days. It's at $1066 now but that doesn't mean anything.

Low production numbers alone don't create increased value. There's some AMC Pacers out there that will prove that point. It takes demand too, and that hasn't really been any stronger than any other G body.
