I have a 1978 Grand Am. I was wondering how rare is this car and If their is any interest in these Grand Ams from 78-80. The car has 99k and I am the second owner. I would really like to know what this car is worth. Buckets console shift, 3:08 factory posi. Thanks cabillesbach@yahoo.com

I wouldn't call them rare (as a group) but there weren't a large number manufactured. There is quite a following, especially on the "performance years" site. They had some unique body metal and trim, shared the GP V8 as well as the GP and Lemans interior. They were made in the 4 door variety as well....I'd call that rare. Is yours 4 door?

Compared to other Pontiac G Bodies, they are more rare. Not worth alot yet since most people havent seen OR heard of them. Like other G Body cars, it was offered with a Saginaw 4 speed in 1979.
What color combo and options? I'll email you for some pictures.
I have......um....some of these cars. check out my album here. I'll be adding more pictures soon.

I had a good size post yesterday, but for some reason it didn't submit, so here's a condensed one. lol.

For some reason, the Pontiac G bodies were not too common (at least around here). I've only ever seen 2 other G body Grand Prix's like mine. And I know the one kid. Otherwise, I've seen MAYBE one Grand Am version before. I wouldn't call them rare as in they're a collectors car, but I certainly would call them uncommon. Plus, with the same dash shared from my GP, I personally think it's one of the nicest old car dashes made. Especially out of the G bodies. Followed by the Cutty...
