Well, mom decided to post dad’s 81 Malibu for sale, so it’s time to let it go. If you a looking for a car you can just get in and cruise, this is it. On the other hand, it would also make a great sleeper for your LS swap!

It is a time capsule, with 69,750 miles on it. Original motor and trans were swapped for a 290hp 350 crate motor and a replacement th-350 was also installed by the previous owner. Dad swapped on a Holley carburetor a few years ago, and it works flawlessly. The car was originally equipped with cruise control, but I have not tested it out, so I cannot say if it is functional.

When dad god it, he installed new headers, a complete 2-1/2” exhaust with Dynomax mufflers.

Suspension is all stock, aside from a 1-3/8” front swaybar with new bushings. Also added were jounce bars from a cutlass, a cross bar from a Grand Prix, and also the under hood support bars from a Monte Carlo. Springs, control arms, and the stock 7.5 are still under the car. Shocks were replaced at some point, but not sure when.

Wheels were upgraded to 15” Pontiac snowflakes with 225/60/15 up front and 245/60/15 in the rear.

The only things replaced in the interior that I am aware of are the headliner and the visors. When the engine and transmission were replaced, a trio of gauges were added to monitor the water temp, oil pressure as well as the bolts. Original AM/FM tape deck are still in the car, and the radio still works. If I can find a cassette, I can try the tape to test it out. The dash board has no cracks in it!!!

The exterior isn’t great, as it has a few dings and scratches, but this is the original paint from 81. It is faded in a few spots, but overall is in good shape. The vinyl top is in wicked good condition

Price is $14,000

Car is located in Tewksbury MA. Come look at it, drive it, I can put it on my lift so you can see how clean this car is. If you have any questions, please send me a message on here.

Nice survivor. No red interior. 😀
All the front reinforcement bars. Frame looks really decent for a NE car.
