1981 Pontiac Grand Lemans Safari Wagon

I just got it out of the barn..been sitting for around 3 years. Last year 81 lemans..and is full power ,seats..windors..a/c ,some of it is missing..last owner took it off.?? No rust..not a bad car..

It fired right up..231 V6 ,metric trans.. I have a 350 ,700R4..and headers for the small block..Thinking i am going to loose the wimpy 231..put in the 350/700r4 and then put it up for sale..

Car is mint green..roofrack shaved off and still has side mouldings on it..just no wood grain has been put on it..

or should i keep it a 231? Also have a factory tach out of a 85 grand prix..v8 car. extra tilt column..

I will post pics tomorrow after i wash the dust off it. LOL

I am asking 1,000 as it sits..running 231 ,auto.. Member Tony-SS was wanting it..but with the chevy changeover installed..1st is i dont have enough parts to change it over.. trans crossmember is different. and I really think it needs a pontiac motor to make a good ride..as it is the last year of lemans wagon too. Power everything.

Needs headliner and visors..but what g-body doesn't ,could use new carpet as well. Car has no rust..new exhaust fron cat test tube back. I got good 215/70/15's on rear 215/60/15 up front. Tires are about 70% tread left on the rear 2 and 90% left on the front 2

I am thinking its going to ebay..soon..like next week.If no interest here..for a quick sale. I need new doors for my 70 K5 4x4 blazer resto..so i am getting this one gone..to many projects!!!

I am in same situation as you. My wagon screams for a built small block but its lack of time and money so i may have too let it go.. to bad your so far id pay a grand for it in a heartbeat.

That's a sweet wagon for sure!

I like Malibus as much as the next guy, but swapping to a Chevy front clip robs it of what makes it so unique!

If I had the funds I'd bring it home in a heartbeat!

well ..here are the wheels i have on it off a 93 S10 2wd

Also this is the 81 only "NASCAR" nose..that in 1982 nascar said "NO" pontiac ...Nose is to aero....LOL ..yes its on google..under 81 lemans wagon..

someone spray painted them grey..I will clean them up..to look almost leike this pic..mabye a black center..

Where are you at papabearxl? I am north of greeneville not far from the interstate 81..

someone needs this wagon before i completly gut it and drop in a 454 th400..and run it on Pinks All Out..next year...
