15X8 with a 4" backspace is just about right. 4.25 will work in the rear, but may have the front tires rubbing the frame rail or the upper control arm. 3.75 may work, depending on tire size. Offset is the difference between the wheel mounting flange and the true centerline of the wheel. Offset is a more accurate measurement since it doesn't vary with design of the bead flange, as the wheel width is measured to the inside of the bead surfaces, but backspacing is a more widely used term for street wheels since it's much easier to measure and provides a fairly reliable way of comparing wheels of different widths when there are possible fitment issues. Ultimately, you never know if a certain tire/wheel combination works until it's on the car, and cycled through the range of steering and suspension motion.
