83 Hurst Olds owner in need of some help... Does anyone out there in OldsLand know the color and tooth count for the Speedo gears at the 200r transmission. There are two, one inside the the transmission, the other in the housing. I need the original configuration, since I am restoring this car. I also need the bullet, cable etc. Information about, where to purchases, etc. Extremely appreciated, since everyone I have asked so far has a different answer. I have researched this on the internet numerous times and have come up with zilcho. Thank you much.

Thank you for your reply. But...I am not doing this job myself. I need specifics for this particular car as in color and # of gear teeth. I can use the calculator which contradicts the info I have come up with so far. What I need is an 83 or 84 hurst owner who knows what he has. Thank you again.

Drive gear is white with 10 teeth and driven gear is blue with 30 teeth. This is according to the 85 GM service manual for the OZ coded 2004r.

I have an 84' OZ from a Hurst Olds. The driven gear is green with 29 teeth. When I had my GM parts counter guy check for a replacement, he couldn't find the green gear but recommended the blue 30 tooth as a workable solution. My green gear was in good condition so I decided to re use it. The white 10 tooth drive gear will work with different driven gears. When you buy a new bullet, get the metal replacement. GM upgraded after realizing that the black nylon bullet wore out causing slop between the gear set. My speedo was jumping because of this. I hope this helps.

Thank you. I am going to start working on this Tuesday. As stated I don't think all of the parts are available through GM anymore. It's been almost 30 years. Sometimes you have no choice other then after market. Thanks again.

Ok, the green or blue gears are available. I can't seem to find the gear housing or sleeve with O rings. Are they still available? Any good aftermarket?

That is exactly what I am going to do, have my GM dealer do a search. Thank you everyone, for the information and ideas.
