Okay so i retro fitted my 84 cutlass a/c system to r 134 and the r 12 used 3.25 lbs of freeon and i went ahead and put that back in the car using 134 and it blows cold but when its hot outside i get real poor a/c temp. im told im suppose to use 80% of what r12 uses when im using r134. my questions is what do you guys think?

I've heard the same thing about using only 80% of what it took with the old stuff.

Yes 80% is correct. Best thing is to have a set of a/c gauges and check the pressures and make sure they are correct. Also did you change the accumalator? and drained the a/c compressor and replaced the oil with the r134 compliant oil? If not it may help to.
