In 1984 there were a limited number of Monte Carlo SSs made in Mexico, for Mexico sale. The differences are many in the Mexican to US/Canadian SSs. There was no rear spoiler. The rims are 14" checker style, an option on the base Monte Carlos in the US. The side mirrors are different style and black. The interior is that of a Grand Prix, in blue. The engine is a 350, 265 hp (198 kW) (unconfirmed) and 350 lb·ft (475 N·m) of torque (unconfirmed), and got a 4 speed manual with Hurst shifter.

Sorry of this is not new to everyone but I thought it was interesting

I still think this is a myth. Show me an actual window sticker with the manual trans and all these other options and I'll buy into it. Everything I read says something different about what these things supposedly came with from the factory. Pontiac interiors, wood steering wheels? WTF?, checkerboard rims, 4-speeds, 350s in various forms.... Where is the documentation to support it? I like that one photo with the air cleaner removed and what looks like a 60s/mid 70s-sh 350 sticker on it.... Those bullet-style mirrors didn't even appear on MC's until what '87 here? Unless they were from the f-bodies...

Color me skeptical on these things, they're all (waaay) different enough that I'm not buying it.

I just found the RPO for the transmission

M67 TRANSMISSION,4-SPD MAN (MUNCIE)

Maybe these were left overs from the early 80s??? weird.

muncie? unpossible. http://www.yearone.com/updatedsinglepag ... muncie.asp It'd be a Saginaw....

From the brief bit of research I did on some of the codes, I'd have to stand corrected. I think. What'd they send a bunch of leftovers down there and go "hey put these in something?" It still rings odd to me.
