how goes it everyone! my name is mark and I got a january 1987 Buick Regal hard-top which has been in my possession for the past 5 years. Im the second owner, found it at 62K miles, now 108K. This car is my pride and joy even though it's not a Turbo Regal. Right now I got the Olds 307 5L with a Rochester Q-jet. I'm installing flowtech headers tomorrow but I plan on doing a whole lot more. Edelbrock intake, TH 200-4R transmission, GM 8.5" rear. My question is: Is that a good setup for the 307? and after deployment: GM Performance 350ci Turn-key, TH 350, and a 12-bolt posi. Also, with the headers Im gonna do a Nascar-style exhaust. Two 2.5" outlets dumping out behind the doors... straight pipe. I know I can get away with having straight pipes but is that too little back-pressure for a daily driver?

thanks brother! I can't wait to get all the parts I want.

GM 350 c.i. turn key crate motor is a great idea for reliability and streetability. But why not keep the 200 4R? It's a good, strong 4 speed transmission bro. 😉

could have been a fluke but my 91 C1500 silverado 5.7L 350 roasted the 4R it had. I wasn't towing or anything, just started popping out of gear, cracked a few teeth on the fly-wheel, and would slip with the oil level full.
