I've heard several people here mention a Cutlass GT previously. Was this a vehicles that was factory built by Oldsmobile, or was it some kind of dealer conversion?
I've never seen one in person but have read that they were a dealer creation. Interesting car but not worth 14k  The rear tires are way too small.
Regional dealer option / creation. A lot like the 442 only with the 7.5 rear with the best available 3.08 gear. Also just a vin Y instead of a vin9. But usually buckets console ralley guages nice platform to build from. Oh yea as mentioned the 14x6 ralleys instead of the 15x7 442 ralley. I presume it did not come with the stiffer springs & sway bars and faster ratio steering like the 442 had.
You know if its clean enough original with low miles etc I have seen regular Cuttys that they asked good money for just because its age & condition. Condition would predicate over GT option but its definately a step up from wire hubs pillow benches column shift with flat speedo etc.
GT cars were conversions done by a dealer in NC, charlotte IIRC, and sold through other dealers mostly in the NC/SC areas. They are basically a fancy cutlass with some 442/salon options. Not worth $14,000.00 in my opinion, no matter what the mileage.
Only 215 out of the 400 planned were converted.
Basically a Cutlass Salon with an El Camino hood scoop, aftermarket wing and GT decals.
Nothing special.... (yawn)
