1. i bought dynomax long tube headers for this car, i dont plan on putting them on the 305 thats in ther now but when i swap out for the 383 im gonna slid em in..my question is the ones i bought were from jegs
pn 86121 - (Dynomax Cyclone Ceramic-Coated Headers)
they say gm passenger cars 78 - 87 or something like that
my car has a/c and this header on 1st inspection doesnt look like its going to fit on the passenger side with the a/c box there like it is.
any help on that situation i would really appreciate.

2. i took off the manifolds to weld up the a.i.r. holes.
on the passenger side it has the " heat riser " that attaches between the manifold and the exhaust pipe.
is there suppose to be a gasket on the beveled end that goes into the pipe?
there wasn't one there, AZ and Napa dont carry them or able to get them.
it looks like its suppose to get a " donut " gasket there?

thx!!

why weld up the air holes? id just use 1/4 pipe plugs

4 broke off inside the manifolds , 2 on each side
easier to just remove them and weld em up, grind em flat and make it look like the provsions were never there.

plus while they were down i gutted the heat riser as well.

It may be year dependent, but I do believe that a generic doughnut is used in the bottom of the heat riser valve if it is not beveled like a doughnut to begin with. Measure the ID of the hole and ask for one that size that has a metal ring in it, and is flat on one side, beveled on the other. Try asking for one for a 1979 AMC Spirit with a 232 L6 as I think that might be the right size. If not, it will give you ballpark to work off of.

thx 85 cutlass ill try that

anyone used these dynomax cyclone headers on a similar underhood car?
any help is appreciated...
