story 1: getting ready for a car show, on my way there noticed i needed gas.. get to the gas station fuel up, and so on and so forth.. i get ready to pull out, and see 3 kids prob 13-14 years old walking past my car(78 cutlass).. one of the kids turn around and says, nice camaro.. i was like it aint a camaro dude, he goes really? what is it?i was like a cutlass... he goes oh.. it looks like a camaro.................

story 2: same night as story one, car show got cut early cuz it started to rain.. the wipers on there were the original ones from 78, and they didnt work good at all, they needed refills, stop at pep boys, cuz its down poring and i couldn't see, so i bought wiper blades just to get me home, till i get refills for the original ones.. i go up to the counter and was like i need wiper blades for a 78 cutlass.. he does his typing and what not into the computer.. and goes i cant find nothing for cutlass's.. i was like what? he goes yea nothing in the computer for 78 CHEVY cutlass.. i was like its not chevy its OLDSMOBILE he goes oh really? i was like yea! lol

all I have to say is WOW...

Same story with my buddy, guy was searching on the computer for a solid 5min. then said "that was a "69 chevy firebird right??" Some people

i get fustrated when people ask me if I'm selling my cutlass....(see my screen name for the source of my fustration.... )

at least they've got good taste in body types! 😛

I can remember asking for parts for a 1970 Chevy 400 small block and the counter monkey getting quite confused by the request! He said they didn't make such an animal...yet the casting date on this one was late 69. He kept insisting it was a Big Block. Another time at the same place, there were two kids asking how to make their 305 Camaro sound like a big block. I told them "Do an engine swap".

So i got to the parts store today for some head gaskets, I tell them i need fel-pro 1003 head gaskets, so then she asks, what vehicle...at this point i figure i'll play your game...i tell her 84 chevy monte carlo ss, she ask what engine, i say 6.3liter 388, so she stares at the computer for a minute or 2, then asks me again i tell her the same, then she calls the manager over... he asks me the same sh*t again so i tell him, after he brings me some stock 305 head gaskets, i ask hem can i see your head gaskets, sure enough there's fel-pro 1003 hanging on the damn wall. Dumbasses!

Believe it or not, my car got called a 1979 Monte Carlo at a car show by a guy who owned a 1969 Pontiac Tempest.

Kids in town call my car a "Monte" alot.

And another kid at skool who drives a 1978 Buick Skylark, said, What year is your cutlass. Of course he doesn't know about any other car but his, and even then all he knows is a 383 is considered a "good engine".

Is it wrong that when I encounter the automotively ignorant, and they try to act like they actually know something I don't, that I wish to smite them with furious anger??!
