It is finally time to change my slipping 200m to a 200r4 that I got a good deal on. What complications can I expect. I know the column shifter will not line up for reverse or neutral, but I am thinking of going to bucket seats and floor shift anyways...but will there be any problems with lining up converter (coming from 305, going to 231), or any electronics problems, and finally will I need to change my yoke (I think that's what it is called in between driveshaft and transmission). Any help with this would be appreciated.
I eventually want to go small block with 200r4, but since opportunity knocked for a good trans for small $$, and since second gear is now mooosh, I thought it would be a good time.

Here's a basic short list of info that may help:

Crossmember (the mount is further back on a 200-4R than a 200)
Torque Converter - not 100% if the 231 and the 305 use the same and if the bolt pattern is the same (if going aftermarket make sure it's for lockup applications if you plan on using lockup)
The 200-4R uses a 27-spline input, not sure what the 200 uses; which may lead to a new yoke and driveshaft. You may need a new driveshaft anyway but I believe the TH200 is the same length as the TH350 and many performed the TH350 - TH200-4R swap without changing the driveshaft.
T.V. (Throttle Valve) cable
12V source for lock-up and kit (or can use a toggle switch)

If possible try to source the T.V. cable brackets and setups if you don't already have it. I'm thinking the only shifter issues you would have is you wont "see" 1st on the PRNDL - OD with be D, D would be 2nd, 2nd would be 1st. You may still be able to get to 1st, but the needle would be off. also, if you are thinking about a serious small-block (or even one that's mild) you may want to do some internal upgrades to the transmission.

Check the Engine / Swaps section and you should find my posting as well as others on this subject.

Hope this helps

Your driveshaft and yoke will work just fine. I replaced my 200 with a 200-4r and used my original set up.
