I have an 86 cutlass with a 373 Posi rear, 403 Olds with a Comp Cams 260 cam, A body headers, Offy 360 dual plane intake, and ccc setup. Due to a ridiculous situation the th350 trans was shot, I got a 60k mile 200R4 that I am about to put in. Obviously this engine is more powerful then a stock 307, I was looking in to shift kits when I talked to the trans re-builder he recommended this instead. http://www.transgo.com/sk_generalmtrs.php It says it "Corrects/Prevents/Reduces: 3-2 cutloose; 1-2 slide or slide-bump; wrong gear starts; down-shift clunk; rough 2-3; late shifts; early shifts; kick down delay." this sounds like a great kit but it doesnt seem very performance oriented. It seems like its more to correct all of GM's mistakes when they designed the transmission. Has anyone used this kit? Is it actually worth the effort? I picked it up for $30 from the supplier just not sure if it was a good idea. Ive heard of people having problems after installing a shift kit in a 200r4. The kit I was thinking of buying instead was the Trans Go Reprograming kit part number 2004R-HD2, it says it gives you Automatic: Crisp to Full Race.Stops 2nd band failure. But it seems to be more performance oriented, what do you guys think?

Not sure about that one. I run the TransGo #200-4R-HD2 Shift kit. Make sure to get a trans cooler if you don't already! And your gonna need a converter, maybe go with something like TCI's Saturday Night Special? CK Performance has a nice Billet aluminum servo for $130, also a deep trans pan like Hughes #HP3880 will do the trick.

or Call Lonnie at Extreme Automatics: (513) 898-0553

I have great luck with everything from http://www.transmissioncenter.net/200-4r.htm, I used them for 700r-4 parts and my pops used them for his 200-4r...he's got a 455 in front of his. Good quality parts at decent prices.

Does anyone know if the Transco 200-4r hd2 kit includes a new servo?

no servo in that kit.

Id spend the extra coin on a kit from ck performance or jakesperformance.com or even call up Dave Husek at turbobuickperformance.com for a kit. If you are on a budget there are 200c servos with larger area than the 2004r servo. Any of those that I have listed will also sell a larger servo.

C K Manual has a 2004r manual that is well worth it if you are digging into one.

Depending on the original application on your trans will dictate where it will shift. If it came from a diesel be prepared for some low shift points.

I called transgo and the distributor about the 200-4r-hd2 kit and both said a new servo was included

same kit from thunderracing. 90 dollars
