231 v6 Drive Belt

Hi Everyone,

So there's this old lady that lives next door,and owns an 81 4dr Malibu. Well today, I seen her tinkering under the hood. So I go take a look and see if could help. It so happens that 2 of belts came off.

The Malibu has the buick 231 v6 set up.I was able to get the belt that goes from the crank to the smog pump. The second dind seam to want to go on. That one goes to the crank,water pump,alt, and. A/c compressor pulleis. I tried loosening the alternator, but the a/c compressor didn't want to budge.

Does anyone have an easy way of doing this?

sounds like the same prob i had with my alt belt try the next size belt..

So I figured why the belt wouldn’t go on. There are actually 3 belts ,and there’s only two there now. So I was making the second belt do, what a whole 3rd belt does by it self. 😳 😳
