im looking at a set of et streets that are 28x11.50-15lt. i am putting a 383 stroker in my 83 cutlass. i have a 10 bolt posi in the rear with stock brakes, blah blah blah. ill have 100% stock suspention except for eibach 1'' lowering springs in the front, and moroso trick drag springs in the rear. now....., i wanted to cut that little fender lip off the rear fender for some more room back there, but im not going to do a tub or anything. with my stock suspension and the moroso springs, do you think i could fit that size tire on a 15'' rim? id be willing to cut more room a little here and there, but like i said, i do not plan on tubbing the car at all.

Depending on your backspacing.. You will most likely rub on the frame of the car... I had test fit a 10.5 wide tire and it was touching the frame... I cant recall what the backspacing was on those wheels, but if you have the proper backspacing and cut the fender as you say... Then it could work

yeah i didnt realize at all that those are 11.5 wide. that will most def. hit the frame. idk if i wana hack up the frame, just that inner lip.

what dou you think is the widest tire i can go on an 8'' rim?

On my car i put 275/60/15's on an 8in wheel. I have 4in backspacing and can just wiggle my fingers between the tire and frame... I was told 275 was a big as i could go on an 8in wheel... Im sure others have gone bigger but i wanted to have a good fit

I have 10" wide slicks on an 8" rim... However, the slicks are realistically 13" wide from sidewall to sidewall, so it's a tight fit... if you are using anything wider than a 10.5" slick, I would recommend 8.5 or wider wheels.
