I'm persuing a frame off restoration on a 1979 Cutlass Calais with a 350 Oldsmobile engine in front of a 2004r Transmission.

The frame that I attached to this thread has a FORD 9"....I recently found out that Ford rear ends (which I have), does not have a 3.73 gear ratio; instead, they have a 3.70 gear ratio.

Don't judge me, but I'm about to ask some rudimentary questions because I'm a beginner to this:

What does the gear ratio mean.....3.73 and 3.70?

What does this mean for performance...is 3.70 gears lesser quality/power than the 3.73

I need clarity......

they are pretty much the same..the driveshaft will turn 3.70 times for one wheel rotation..so 3.73 will turn 3.73 times per one wheel rotation.. virtualy no difference, your good
sweet setup 8)
