350 turbo trans. vacuum hook up .

I was told by the guy who built my trans to hook it up off the rear port off the manifold but i dont seam to be getting vacuum anywhere else ,is this causing that ? I cant feel vac off either front ports on carb or off the distributor. Nor does it sound any difference when disconected ,main problem is right now tryjng to tune corectly and heater is switching vents no vac to the lines. Anyone have this problem.

sounds like you are checking for vacuum on "ported vacuum ports" which are not intended to have any vacuum at idle because they are placed above the throttle blades. manifold vacuum will have vacuum at idle.
