I joined a gbody group on facebook the other day and one of the members posted his build, it's a 305 stroked to a 331, using a set of WORLD heads, don't know the other specs.

Pretty impressive for a 305

Builders are chev pasmore, and yakko reyes.
They won't say what they're putting it in, but its a Gbody.

Those World 305 Torquer heads have larger runners than the factory 305 heads, shame they stopped making the 305 version.

Thats impressive, until it goes in a G body were it will only be average. Meaning, That graph mirrors a stock 9:1 compression Goodwrench 350 with a performer intake, 270 duration cam, and standard 1 5/8 headers with stock heads. That's one of the reasons World stop making HP heads for the 305. That 305 is just about maxed out. I've seen some 305s hit just over 400 hp and just like this version, It's working it's *** off!
Hell, you can build a 450 horse 327 sbc at a cheaper cost than a stroked 305 sbc any day of the week. A average 350 sbc build is way cheaper than the 327. The famed 302 sbc can beat on a 350, but its not worth building either, because it won't be streetable.
Yeah you can build a killer 305 but even with NOS, it won't kill a built 350 sbc, sbo, sbb, or a sbp!
Sorry, I had to burst this bubble.

No bubble to burst jetset, we all know the 305 has it's limitations, it's just cool to see what people still do with them. You could probably justify the cost to build one if you bought a Gbody WITH a 305 still in it, and didn't want to go block shopping. idk, not worth arguing.

it's always cool when someone doesn't follow the norm, and instead try out something different.. This engine combo is not you "average" build.
Very cool.

Hey i'll give you the "dare to be different" respect. Definitely the road less traveled but, all roads are a learning experience. 8)

P.S. Remember that statement if or when I get my next G body idea going. Lol
