i was wondering if the 4.1 v6 brings the same internals as the 3.8 i know that there the same block just that they bored out the 3.8 to a 4.1 but i just want to know if the internals are the same and if the block could hold a turbo setup

Depends on what kind of turbo you plan on running. Carureted? Hot Air? Intercooled? There are so many problems you can run in to. It would just be easier to find a complete turbo block, with all internals and everything else. Trying to piece one together is a hard job not worth the effort or $$ (I tried this, not fun at all). But, I'm also not one to shoot down another person's ideas.

You'd have to change the heads, oiling system, and other various things to adapt to the turbo system. Compression has to be lower due to the compressed air coming in, to make sure there is not knocking or pinging.

it can be done and the results are great. a few people have done it. u basically need the 291 cast 4.1 block. it comes from the older 80-83 fullsize buicks or the 82-83 regals. go to turbobuicks.com and search "build a budget 4.1 motor"

the 4.1L has the same rolled fillet crank that the turbo 109 3.8 uses. the 291 block mentioned is purported to be the best 4.1 casting to use. The 8445 heads may or may not be on the 4.1. The long block I used had them. I don't have mine together yet as the pistons are somewhat expensive if you want to use forged ones as I do.

I have about $200 in mine so far but that is just the core, a hot tank and magnaflux of the block and having the machine shop clean and measure the crank. I need to buy bearings, have the crank polished, have the block bored, buy some piston and rings, have the rods resided and fitted to the piston, and get a basket set to assemble it all. I also need a cam, lifters, and have the springs I have fitted to the heads. I want to go with bigger valves but I am not sure I can swing that yet. It's only money though, right?

Its only money but its money well invested.I mean how much does a reliable/rebuilt motor cost? you will have both & have fun w/an unstoppable combo!
