425 Olds Super Rocket?

i never heard it called a super rocket, but the olds 425 was a big block used in their larger cars before the 455. check here for some more info on the engine, http://www.442.com/oldsfaq/ofeng.htm#Engines 1964 - 1990, those guys have some good info on their site.
 
its a 425, nothing too special about it. Just a big block, i wouldn't pay 1k for one, personally.
 
I have a 425. I believe the only thing that makes it special is the forged crank and some used different lifters. Other than that it was the same bore as the 455.
 
425's have forged cranks! bore it to 4.165, plus it'll have good B heads, it'd be a fun build!

This is the plan for mine but I have A heads for now. I have also heard of people using big block chevy rods but obviously theres some machine work needed for that. I think $1000 is way high though, I would keep looking.
 
They a good motor, would be a big improvement. My 403 was way more fun than the 307.
