hey guys new user, got an 87 olds 442, debating to yank the boat anchor and drop in another mill, was thinking chev, but i already have an olds with a factory chev 305, yanked it, and put a beefed up 350, want more form the 442, but dont want to ruin the car with a chev, any ideas where i can get an olds motor at a decent price?? im in bonnyville alberta so the closer to me the better, what do you have

I found my olds 350 on craigslist. I got the motor, and a 400 transmission combo for $300. You can also check junkyards, and look for junk cars that people want to get rid of. They might have a nice motor under the hood, and you can buy the whole car for $500. Then part out the car, or have it crushed to make your money back.

had that brain storm already, but you cant find a car around with an olds motor, unless it has a 307, they are a dime a dozen.
but still undecided if i want to haul the factory motor out, it only has 73 thousand miles, yes miles, it has the american mile speedo in it, rare car, mint shape, rare grey interior with t tops.

or i may sell it, as i have a cutty with a sick motor in it, and dont really need 2, whats these cars going for?
i just had new decals put on the car 3 weeks ago, as the old ones were cracked and faded, the original rims were stole and i stuck cragar ss rims on it, put 4 new skins on it, and havent drove the car since, it sits in heated shop year round, so i wont miss the car, as it never gets used. i can email pics of someone is interested, the car has never seen snow or rain, and i have had the car 16 years. i just order new anti rattle strips for the t tops as they were cracking. other then that the car is ready to go, put new plugs and oil change last week, i dont drive it, but oil is never in the car for longer then a month, driving or parked, i am odd like that, lol.

I think its more common for Canadian G Body's to have the 'generic' motor in them. Especially for anything in the 80's.

not even sure if this is a canadian car, as it has the mile per hour speedo, not kilometer, well miles is on top, opposite from i am used to anyway.
anyway are these cars wanted by many? like i said i dont drive it, and it just sits in garage fired up weekly just to keep everything moving. some one toss an offer, lets see what these crates are worth, lol or trade even???????????? what ya all got

If you keep all old stuff and throw 307 motor in corner you cam always go back . Unless its a low miles ride go for it .

They sell all the time. But no car is real hot right now .

well anyone have any idea as to where i can find an olds motor in alberta, craigslist has nothing, an any olds motors that were around are long gone, either crushed are someone pulled them an are hiding them, cause i cant find anything up here, any help would be great
