IM DEALING WITH A 1987 CUTLASS 442 WITH RUSTED REAR FRAME RAILS. IM EATHIER LOOKING TO REPLACE THE WHOLE FRAME OR WOULD IT BE BETTER TO JUST CUT AND WELD THE REA FRAME RAILS? IM ALREADY GOING TO SEPARATE THE BODY FROM THE FRAME TO REPLACE BODY MOUNTS. IM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FRAME IDENTIFICATION IF IT HAS ONE. IN THE FUTURE COULD THE FRAME BE LOOKED AT TO VARIFY IF ITS A TRUE 442? LIKE STAMPS OR NUMBERS ON FRAME? SHOULD I JUST KEEP MY ORIGINAL FRAME AND JUST REPAIR IT? I LOOKED INTO REPLACING IT BECAUSE THERE IS OTHER RUST AND IS WEAK IN SOME PLACES. PLEASE HELP. :?:

When I pulled the body off the frame of my cutlass. It had the vin stamped on the top of the frame rail under the drivers side floor board. Impossible to see with the body on the frame. If you want a new frame I have an extra in my garage if your interested.
