442 turns off???

when i turn on my car i let it warm up is all good, but when i put it on reverse the rpm drops and the car turns off. I put a new gas filter thinking that may be. but it still does it. any help please. it also starting to overheat on long drives. all vacuum hoses r good.

Could be a few things. Vacuum, timing, clogged cat etc. What engine are you running?

i have the original 307, I will try the timing, and installed a new cat, i just installed 2 flowmasters, cat was next. but when i get it to stay running it doesn't turn off anymore. it only does that when i first turn it on.

Is your choke adjusted properly?

I was thinking it was the mixture control solinoid , I was going to rebuild the carb , so I'll try this things out, Thanks. 😀
