Supposed to pick up my 4L60 from the transmission rebuilder tomorrow, I am psyched. I've been waiting to do this for almost a year. I had to wait for tax return $$$$ because the price is high. Hopefully it will move a little quicker. I had them take out the lockup function from the converter, I rarely drive on long highway cruises anyway.

I'll take it to the drag strip ASAP and will let you all know if there is an improvement. (This is my GN not my elco)

Cool man just remember when you are in fourth gear and your cruisin without lockup the trans can tend to overheat. But the life of the transmission is much less with non lockup but if youtend to keep i under 4th gear morethan anything u will befine.

I've been told that a nice big cooler should be used when removing the lock up.

I'm running the 700r4 with a non lock up converter in my car and I love it. Make sure your transmission builder installed the converter conversion valve from Transgo,http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TRG-7-CCV/ . You need that to re-direct the flow of the fluid in a non lock up set up. You will love the o'd/ I have 4.10 gears and am just fine on the streets in o/d. Good luck.

The transmission is in! Took me two evenings after work to do it! I really like the nice, crisp shifts. The rebuilder commented that the clutches were gone when they took it apart.

Yes, he put a lockup bypass valve in it and said it is always pumping now.
