Don't know if any of the rest of you guys have seen the episode, but I'm watching Iron Resurrection on Velocity, and one of the cars they're working on is a hot-rodded Grand National with a claimed 600 hp that's getting a roll cage, because I guess the owner ran too fast a pass to run in the stock class anymore. The owner's name is Louis De Leon, if any of you guys know him. Anyway...Just thought I'd share. 🙂

It's pretty easy to need a roll bar in a Turbo Regal. Mine had a $400 TA49 Turbo and 36# injectors from a '90 from an 1990 Ford Supercoupe as the only real motor "mods" and I was told to leave the track multiple times (both 1/8th mile and 1/4 mile).

You don't need anywhere near 600 Hp.

I would love to be told I need a rollbar for my street car. I would be happy with 350-400 horse out of my six banger.

The goal with my recent L92 swap was to hit mid to high 11's for this reason. No way i'll cut up the car for a roll cage.

11.50 to 11.99 is really the sweet spot for a pure street car if you want to go to the track. Faster than this is frustrating at most sanctioned tracks.

1/8th mile tracks that throw you out for a 7.50 are even more frustrating. That might have been FAST!!! 25 years ago, but it isn't fast today.
