Just want to know what my options are.

My current daily driver is a 1998 Mustang V6. I just bought a while back new Ford Racing 3.73 gears + matching T-Lok. I still got these parts laying here - still not in. So I searched around here and other forums and it seems its possible to get the 7.5 Ford rear in my 1979 Monte Carlo??

I'm asking because I can find another 7.5 Mustang axle (Ford Mustang V6 parts that age kinda easy to find here in GERMANY) and get the gears and t-lok in and put everything on my Monte Carlo.

But the Ford's bolt pattern is different.. so what can I do with that?

I just searched around for these things but not really found something I 100% understand.

...or just better to sell my ford gears and t-lok and get a 8.8 foxbody axle and mod it?

Thanks,
-Kevin

Someone else from germany....Me , too. So.. I have the same problem with my Olds and there are some different ways... Check out the discussion on rear end here... seems not to be that easy , because there are not many rearends , that will fit into a g body.... If you want , you can leave pm and we can talk...

Just get the axles redrilled to chevy bolt pattern (if possible). Or buy some new axles with chevy bolt pattern.

It is a lot of work!!! I would say go for it if it was an 8.8, but a 7.5 is not worth it. It would be cheaper to just modify the original 7.5 with new gears, etc. than to use the Ford stuff. By the time you adapt the brakes, modify the driveshaft, have the posi and new gears set up, re-drill the axles, modify the control arms, weld on spring perches, etc. it will cost more to use the Ford axle than to just go through the GM axle. Even then, I tend to think 7.5's are a waste of time as you are better served with the rare 8.5 axle. If you are making real power, the 7.5 will not last long, especially with the small pinion gear of a 3.73 gear set.
