Hey guys, I recently took a rode trip and picked up an 85 cutlass(no motor no transmission) that was suppose to be a parts car but ended up being in better shape then i had expected, no real serious rust some small sh*t in the floors but no big deal, the car came full of parts i ended up even having to fill my box, but any way I have my transmission out of my 82 cutlass which is a 700r4 i believe, the 82 is a collum shift, and the 85 is a console shift, but seeing as it has no transmission the cable bracket is gone, and I cannot figure out what bracket to get, also is there something i need to get to hook the cable up to the shifter arm? also my transmission has only 1 wire coming out of the drivers side and all my searches say there should be 3? I am very confused i know it has something to do with the tc lockup but am not sure why i only have 1... Any tips would be helpful sorry for the newb question.

I have a recently acquired parts car.

Has automatic , console shift,

I know I do not need the shifter

If you are going with the console shifter a standard cable shift cable will work on a 700R4. You will need the TV(throttle valve) cable and depending on induction you will need the correct brackets for that setup. The stock 700r4 has 3 wires, but since you have only one, someone has put an aftermarket lockup kit in it which only needs 1 wire to trigger the lockup solenoid. That wire will get 12v to activate. There are many kits out there to control the lock up everything from the most basic manual switch to complex that check speed, load, rpm for lockup control.

it has the cables already, i just need to know what bracket to get too hold the cable to the transmission and shifter arm, thanks!
