I've been trying to figure out the tolerances of this trans. I simply need it to hold up to 400hp and 450lb. How hard is it to get this trans to hold up to this type of power? I know they held up fine to the vortec 350 in my buddies truck that is making pretty decent power. I'll probably end up going with a 2000 stall converter since the power band on my cam is roughly 1300-5400rpm. I talked to my buddy who deals primarily with mopar transmissions and has not heard much about the 700r4. The one I have is a 1985 version that should have the 30 splines on the input shaft and is what I believe to be a 2nd generation 700r4.
