Im installing a 7111 edlebrock rpm performer intake on a 1970 olds 350 rocket i was wondering if i would still install the Valley Pan?

I do, who knows if it does anything. Some use the composite gaskets and some cut the center of the tray out to work with the separate gaskets.

I don't. ..I use a Dick Miller valley pan tray...it needs to be fitted and installed before your cam bearings are installed. I'm sure you will be fine without it or just google the stock tray install with the recommended gaskets there are a couple different ways to do it. Research it and decide.Good luck.

What does edlebrock recommend?

Actually, Edelbrock recommends both, just avoid Mondello, others like Dick Miller and other Olds vendors offer the same. Notice how they say Gaskasinch, I use aviation sealant, same stuff and to use RTV in place of the rubber end seals. Use a 2 or 3 tall row of RTV. It doesn't need to be very wide but tall. Also if any amount of milling was done to heads and intake isn't completely straight, good luck in fitting the .060" thick composite intake gaskets. I still have a set hanging on the wall because of this.
