Hey guys,

Was wondering whether the Grand Prix and Bonneville hoods were interchangable for the 1978-80 model years. I cant find the GM product numbers to verify. Thanks.

Bonneville is a B body except for 82-86, so no, they don't interchange.

GP hood # 10005440 (steel) 78-80
GP hood # 10005439 (alum) 78-80
Bonneville hood # 10001794 77-79
Bonneville hood # 10008200 (steel) 80-81
Bonneville hood # 10008195 (aluminum) 80-81

Thanks. I figured it was a long shot. Located an aluminum hood from a bonneville with decent price on ebay. Looking to replace my rust GP hood with something lighter . Thanks for the part numbers.

Has anyone ever seen the aluminum hood before? I have heard of this legend but never seen one 🙂 I'd love to get my hands on one for my 80 🙂

I've seen one Grand Prix aluminum hood. It was on a very loaded '78-80 GP LJ.

As for the Bonneville Hoods, 1977-81 Bonneville was a B-Body, with the "Catalina" being its cheaper B-Body Pontiac sibling... Those hoods do NOT fit.
For the 1982 model year (mid-1981), Pontiac killed the two door "LeMans", and renamed the 4 door and wagon LeMans, the "Bonneville" and the B-Body Pontiac became the "Parisienne".
These '82-up "Bonneville's" have a slightly different "Pontiac Ironing Board" hood design that does not match up with the earlier lines of the '78-'81 hoods
.

1977-81 Bonneville/Catalina "B" - Body Full Size (same chassis as Chevy Caprice, but a lot nicer and usually Pontiac-powered)
