I use a wheelchair and wanted to get hand controls put in my 79 Cutlass. I was wondering does anybody have any info or have any pics with hand controls in any gbodys? I want to get it done without butchering my car all up.

Welcome bud!

I'm also in a chair. They are pretty basic, gas & brake. Push down for gas, push in for brake. You will have to unbolt the vent panel under steering column for the 2 bars, and use like soup can, or whatever to connect the vent tubes together. You can also ude dremmel tool to modify that vent panel to cover partial (clean up).

But sorry i dont have pic's of the controls in any of my g-bodies. My 83 H/O is in storage 1-1/2hr away, and the pics i have on interior of my old 86 442 that got t-boned/totaled 2yrs ago are after i had them removed. But i enclosed pics how they look in my red 77 442, pretty much the same thing.

They aint cheap for what they are. I believe $875 for a set now? Call around to see if any place by you have a "used" set they could install for your car.
Doug

Thanks. I thought i was going to get it put in for no cost but for some reason Mississippi doesn't modify cars past certain years. I prefer g-bodies or Caprices and wouldn't necessary want to be put in something that i want like driving. Maybe i will get lucky and find a set to put in myself.

Did you ever get the Hand Controls installed?
