Found a 2 dr 80 Grand Am last weekend, car needs complete restoration....Frame looks good body fair , it show 95,000 miles, the interior is blue and there but needs redone as well....buckets, console everything there...the dash has two or three cracks and small cracks in the console as well...seats in back just sitting in the car, carpet ruined basically, door panels and plastic panels are in good shape...exterior is black , weird it has red pinstripping down the side but very dull , needs paint and shows signs of surface rust ....they put a new rebuilt 350 in it and 400 trans was rebuilt they say, also tell
me motor has never been started , the car has been in the same family for 20 yrs....it needs everything though....I left a note on the windshield last weekend and the lady said she was going through a divorce and the title is in her name although the car obviously has not been on the road for years...rubber bumber on back in hanging out ...parts of grill missing, she asked me what it was worth , I said maybe 300. her fiance said they would like 500 for it .... they swear the motor cost 1900 to rebuild but I didnt even pop the hood to look at it yet....visibly the car would have the appearance of a salvage car on the outside with faded paint and all...it also has some pontiace rallye wheels on it but not like my 78 lemans rallyes...need to see if they are the correct ones...they say they are...I will post pics asap! What's your thoughts????...by the way has all the trim down both sides but header and rear stripes are gone!

Cant find the download cord for the camera so I took a pic with my phone just to give you an idea...I'll get better pics this weekend!

It looks like an interesting car. What would be your intentions for it? GAs should have the stainless faced instruments, nicer tail lights and of course the GA nose. Those grills can be hard to find but should not be impossible. I believe they also have a lowered suspension (.5")

If you want build a G-body Pontaic, the GA is the car to have, but if it's only good for parts, GAs have alot of goodies to use or sell. The value of a 20 year old rebuilt motor is questionable, especially if it has not been turned over since then.

From the pics the wheels look like Buick rallys. Are the spokes chrome?

Good interior plastics are probably worth $300, if not $500.

Keep us posted.

1.5" front, 1" rear.

Tell them you will meet them in the middle at 400..and even if you don't want the car you can easily part it out for a lot more than that...or build it and have a sweet ride..save the pontiac, we need more ponch g-bodies around.

Here's some better pics...but she will need alot...

From a strictly monetary viewpoint, the car is not worth restoring, but there were only 1647 of them built, the '80 had many unique features and only lacked horsepower to be a true musclecar.
