81 grand prix trans

ok guys my transmission does not go in reverse it drive just fine but wont drive in reverse....what do you think.. should i get my trans rebuilt or just have the reverse fixed? if possible

and also does anyone kno what trans came in the 81 gp with a v8 265?

i would check the adjustment of the cable first, but you would need to get it rebuilt if you really want to fix the problem, if reverse is gone, the rest will follow shortly

M-E-T-R-I-C transmission came in my '81 V-8. I think that was all you could get. transmission went out after 4 years and had it replaced with a Turbo 350.
