1st off, capitalization is a wonderful thing (I am the grammar gestapo!).
Second, hood clearance is largely dependent on the intake manifold you run, the carburetor you choose, any carb or air cleaner spacers you need and the actual air cleaner assembly you choose to run. I run a 750 Quadrajet on a Edelbrock Performer (not an RPM) with a L69 Camaro (HO 305) air cleaner base and a LG4 (std 305) Monte Carlo lid. That fits fine, if not a little close. However, I tried a drop base with a 3 in tall element on an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb and it touched the hood. This is because I needed to run a spacer ring on the carb to fit that air filter assembly with the HEI. With the Quadrajet and native Chevy air cleaner, that is not needed, so it provides a bit more clearance. In the end, you will need to see where it ends up with the hood on. Just don't slam it the first time around! If it closes, try putting a piece of modeling clay on the lid where it comes closest to the hood and see how far it compresses. You do need some clearance to account for the body shifting on the mounts, and the engine torquing over.
