1. I have a cam....
2. There are NO COLORS on my two HVAC vacuum lines (everybody says the lines should be purple and white, which is true.......purple for vent door and white for the heater core valve bypass)
Both of my lines are WHITE!! So, I can't tell which one is for the vent door.

I am blowing only through defrost/floor.
My driver side vacuum canister is completely unhooked now, therefore I am getting vacuum straight from my carb...using the full-time vacuum port. I am bypassing the ball on passenger side also.
Do I have to use the ball.....the vents open by vacuum, so if I have enough vacuum, the ball shouldn't matter right now?

Either i'm using the wrong vacuum line, or I don't have enough vacuum?.....

I've done this. FIRST, has this all been "not working? If so, Go under dude, find each blend door, and clean each door seal and mating surface. Why I think this. I got everything working a couple years ago, but had to use a bypass hose (at the hose harness) for the ac 1 year. This winter (It's mine now, got jr an 87 elco) I turned on the fan vent and a couple seconds after, I heard the doors 'pop' open. A couple years back I gave someone here the vac switch #s. Got them at autozone. They're made by Everco. But, they had to look it up in the old picture catalog. hope this gets ya cool. 8)

I had the same problem.i had the purple and white lines running in to a t and came out to one Outlet. i connected that to direct vacume just like you did.but it would still only blow from defrost and floor.i ran the car for a couple hours then all of a sudden they popped open.i was happy as hell.maybe you just have to run it for a while.

Thanks for the replies. Just got done with my electric fuel pump project so I'll try these suggestions soon

Ok I looked under and I see 3 silver round vacuums or whatever.

Question: Looking through the glovebox hole...I see this door with a silver vacuum...what door is this? And there are more than one door for vents??

Ok, well I dont dont know what the other door is for
But I found the vent door. It is beind the vent paneling. I feels pretty "forceful" to to open and close...I think it needs to be replaced (vacuum actuator), which is a dash teardown...which won't get done ANYYtime soon.

I just need to figure out a way to prop the door to manually keep it open....I am about to re-do/install a/c, so all I really need is it blowing through vent, no use for defrosters. Summer will be here no time and its murderous the type of heat we get.

Same problem here......sometimes it works and sometimes it dont. Blows out of the floor I need the air to flow out of the vents. This is the first time this has happened in the 9yrs Ive owned the car.

You also need to check the rotary switch on the control panel, these do get worn out so you will loose vacuum at the switch. When that happens everything diverts to the defroster/floor vents.

Exactly what mine is doing, after a engine swap and sitting for alittle over two years, was at the bottom of the list of thing for me to fix but im all ears if anyone has sugestions .
