Hey Cody, sounds like a cool project. I am facing similar challenges with my lemans. Important question that makes all the difference, is your 3.8 a chevy (229ci with rear nounted distributor) or a buick (231ci with a frony mount distributor)?

A Buick 350 will drop right on to the stock 3.8 V6 mounts, and all the accessories from the front of the motor will bolt up.
Other than a V8 fan shroud and exhaust, it's pretty much a direct swap.
Naturally it's a good idea to find out which transmission you have, and either swap it out for something better, or rebuild it.
Stock rears are fine on the street, but you'll definately want a better gear ratio.

As long as it is the Buick 3.8L the transmission will bolt right up as well. They are built with the same internals as the tranmissions that came with a V8, so unless it doesn't shift right then there is no need to rebuild it.

FYI, Buick V8 performance parts cost a lot of money :!:
