hey guys I just picked up a really clean 83, I was thinking it just had a regular gm 305 and th350 lockup trans, am I right or is the Pontiac 5.0 different then a chevy 5.0. thanks.

As far as I know, the last year that Pontiac produced their V8 was either 1980 or 1981, so you should have the 305 Chev in your 1983 Grand Prix. Those cars will accept pretty much any engine that GM has produced in the past 40 years or so though.

that works for me I have lots of parts for it and a 2004r trans with 10in 2600 lock up converter, will make a nice DD with 3.42's. I was impressed with it having a posi but the 2.56 gears suck
