Hello folks, been lurking here for awhile and actually have owned my gbody for a year now. I have an 83 H/O project that I'm working on. Planning to go with a 3/2 drop and 17" or 18" wheels with a 275 rear tire for now, unless I decide to try my hand at frame notching sooner rather than later to fit the 335s sitting in my garage 8) . Before the Olds purists flame me, this car is an original H/O, but has an incorrect VIN tag. I believe it was stolen somewhere along it's life and had the VIN switched-says it's an 83 V6 Cutlass. However, all of the H/O stuff is on it except for the sticker on the decklid-it was peeled off, and the one in the door jamb was peeled too. Rear spoiler is correct 3 piece, trans and rear are correct, has dual snorkel air cleaner with chrome lid and correct carb, correct moulding on hood, correct wheels with red pinstripe. The kicker is the sliding switch on the gas pedal that turns off the A/C when you hit WOT-it's there too. There are too many things on the car for it to be a clone. Shifter was removed from car before I got it-that's all that was missing. Once I got it home and started tearing into it, I found that the steering wheel was cut (had a cover on it), so my guess is that it was stolen at some point. I plan to yank the 307 and swap in an LS style engine-5.3 or 6.0 and a manual trans with a HURST shifter. It's a little rough-needs a door skin, wheelwell rusted through on one side, small hole in floorpan, and header panel is beat up and cracked. Should be a fun car when it's finally done.

welcome to the forum.i'am from northeast pa.

welcome!

Thanks guys, can't wait to get this thing together and on the road. It has its issues for sure, but will be a lot of fun when "done"-if it'll ever be done....
