ok so im working down the list pf issue's that keep poping up with the new regal, and i gotta get the speedo cable fixed, how hard is this to do ? ive never done one before and how much does a new cable cost ? i know the basic idea how it hooks up to the transmission and bolted to a few things to hold the cable, and of course through the firewall and into the cluster, but if there anything more to it? or is it basically just " plug n play" type job.

It is fairly straightforward, but there is the hidden clip behind the LH inner fender. I got it by loosening the bolts for the inner fender, and gently bending it back. Then I could get a screwdriver in to release the clip.

Getting the speedo head out isn't too bad, once you do the cluster once it gets easier. The firewall gromet will take some patience to get off and on the new cable. It can be done without cutting... I used some WD40 and got it over the end of the cable.

Also, if you haven't bought the new cable already, go down to your GM dealer and have them order it. $50 and it's far better quality than the part store cables.
