Hey everyone, im new to this forum so please excuse me for any stupid questions or things that were covered already.

Im strongly considering an 84-86 cutlass but i really want to do something different with it. I was looking everywhere and only getting partial information. I want to swap either the 86' monte 4.3 or a 4.3 Vortec into the car and do a manual transmission Conversion. From what ive read the 4.3 like any small block chevy wont be an issue aside from minor modifications, and i have also read that the OEM T56 6-speed would mount easily ( http://www.shiftn6.com/6gearg.html ) I was curious to see if both or either engine would work with that transmission, and if not which other transmission? and i also heard i can get the pedal assembly out of a 3rd gen F-Body. Please forgive my ignorance but im still learning alot of the in-depth workings about cars and such. I just want to get more of my facts straight before i go spending all sorts of money

From my past knowledge with vortex 262 the t5 transmission will work no problems...unaware if the t56 is just a t5 with a 6th gear hope that helps some

It seems nowadays keeping an Olds engine in a G-body Cutlass is doing something different.
