Okay so not sure if this is right spot but here i go. I gotta 1984 regal with 1987 olds 307. If i recall right the heads are 7a. Havent been smart too look at numbers on it even tho ive seen em. What are the recommended books to try to get proper diagrams and whatnot. First car ive put time and money that tryna eliminate overspending or placing wrong add ons that i may later want to persue but thats only day dreams till i learn more. Im not the mechanic on it and i try to stick to the one who got it running. I can post pics later. Trying to go bout the right way. Besides leave it to the wrench turners. Thanks look forward to sharing this adventure i hope gets better.

"proper" books would be factory service manuals. any haynes or cjilton type boox will be fine enough. theres not a lot to these engines fortunately. and since you have an edelbrock on there already, half of whats in those books dont matter anymore.

Far as im concerned ima ride out the poor choice made but im more after a direct source for down the road. Wire harness references. Proper info. I dont like google much. Its the search of wiki imo

Question : what materials should i have to replace headliner after steps:remove. Tidy board up. Measure n cut material. Apply sticky spray(adhesive. 3m)

You can get headliner material in limited colors at Wally World or JoAnn Fabrics cheap. If you want to be fancy, you'll have to order it somewhere. You can also get creative with Hawaiian shirt flower print, Mexican saddle blanket, etc...

I bought my headliner material from Stock Interiors which was a perfect match to my factory one, they will also send you free samples so you can find the best match to your original headliner or visors.

Cleaned my board, bought the material from Jo Ann's fabric and used 3m 77 spay adhesive.

I actually got black foamback from hobbly lobby. I should have specified on the materials part by asking if there was clips or amything in that nature.

I know i have to remove pillars. Dome light. And visors.
Was planning on doing it this weekend but found out. I needed to replace seals on trans.
Day before the black cable on the wire harness that connects alternator was cut/cracked.. im going to inspect hoses/wires to see what needs replacement

For future reference. Next dyi project i plan on is interior door panel fix up. The top materialed panel, is it possible to redo or pull some? Planning on switching from grey(original wweather worn) to black. Read interior pillar and panel repaint thread here and came to conclusion of the over time project. Ill place pictures when i get car back.
