Hey guys, i really need some help, when i turn my air-conditioner on no matter what i set it to , all i get is the exhaust out of the vents for the defroster, i don't get anything out of the dash vents, what can i do to track down the problem?

I had the same problem with my Regal when I first got it. I changed some vacuumes and connected some that were disconnected under the hood near the a/c unit and seemed to fix the problem. Just a wild guess though...

Check the vacuum lines on the motor side. Be sure they are all hooked up. There should be a vacuum reservoir/amplifier looks like a black ball, it's easy to blow the vacuum line off when the car backfires.

Ok, I checked the vacuum reservoir/amplifier, the black ball, and it only has one line coming out of it on the side, and that goes to a "T" and splits off and each of those lines go to the windshield washer squirters

That's wrong. There should be 2 t*ts for hoses on the ball, maybe one is busted off. It gets a black hose which comes from a manifold vacuum source, and a purple hose goes to the dash controller. If you have a water valve that shuts off hot water in AC mode, that is a grey hose. And the ww squirters hoses come from the washer pump on the ww washer motor.

is there any way you or someone can snap a photo from under the hood of a 84 cutlass supreme, and point it out to me, if need be i can snap one from under my hood, and then i would only need someone to point it out for me, please let me know

This is an 83' Bonneville. Should be similar if not identicle.

Some vehicles only have one connection to the ball- like my El camino. The tee fitting allows the Purple line to the HVAC and the ball to be connected. Be sure that the line has a check valve as well, between the source and before the Tee, so that vacumn is maintained in the ball should the vacumn source be turned off ( engine shut down).

If you have Cruise Control, a second line could be Teed into either the Ball or HVAC line going to the Cruise Control Servo ( Depending on year).
