The T-type as a base model is a GN that came in other colors. If it had the v6 turbo it is an 8.5", The T-types could be ordered with any combination of trim, engine, color you wanted so there are some oddball T-types out there that are factory correct.
84 T-Type only came with the turbo V6 (87 the T package could be had on a 307 car). They all should have come with the 8.5in 10 bolt rear. Open diff was standard, posi was a $100 option.
