First off, a Royale would be a model of Delta 88 and as such it is a B body and not a G body. If it is a 4 door Cutlass Supreme Brougham and not a Delta 88 Royale Brougham, not a single body panel will interchange with the 2 door. The Front seats ( if you swap the outer hinge in place of the 4 door's solid bracket), carpet, column, some switches and dash are all that interchange with the interior if it is a 4 door Cutlass and not Delta 88 which is the same as a Caprice and not a G body.

As for the 3.8, it's a POS. If you just want to see it live again, find a good used engine. Look for a car that is junked because of collision damage as that is an indicator that it ran before it was junked, or find a good running parts car. It will be cheaper and easier than putting a lot of money into an engine which is not well suited to either car. There is a 4.1 liter variant of this engine which is rated at 10 more HP and has a 4 bbl carb which was used in some Grand Prix as well as some B bodies and ( for the love of god why?) some Full sized D body RWD Cadillacs in the early to mid 80's! It's a bolt in and is worth considering if you find one for the same money as a 3.8.

figurted it out haha thanks

I would need ot see pics of the actual car to tell you what it is. I have never heard of a Cutlass Supreme with a Royale designation, only the Delta 88 B car chassis and that is what I thought you were referring to. If it is what you say it is, you have may have a rare ( but not valuable) trim option. You also may have a case of someone adding extra badging to their boring car to make it seem ( to who, I dunno!) like something more special. I have the 1985 Cutlass brochure from GM, and I can find no reference to a Royale Brougham anywhere.

figured it out haha thanks 😀

Could very well be a G-body chassis. Pontiac moved the Bonneville from the B-body to the G at some point. ('82-3?) I think also Olds moved the 88 designator to the "new" FWD platform sometime in there. Could be wrong tho.

The four-door later cutlasses also had different taillights and header panel styles than the 2-doors, which makes them look like they should be B-bodies as well.

Maybe a vin could help us out, or some pix.

(doh, I just realized I never re-upped my '85 olds brochure to the new album. Looking at it, I think its definitely a G)
